Lycoming College’s Division of College Advancement is recruiting for a Major Gift Officer. The Major Gift Officer is responsible for raising financial support for Lycoming College’s educational mission by soliciting individuals and organizations for annual, major and planned gifts. The Major Gift Officer manages a portfolio of donors to develop and cultivate relationships with alumni and friends of the College to encourage leadership annual gifts and to solicit outright major and planned gifts.
This candidate must possess high motivation for success coupled with diplomacy, tact and consistent follow through; the ability to forge strong working relationships with others and the capacity for engaging confidence and trust among prospects and donors; excellent written and oral communication skills including good listening skills, and strong time management as well as strong multi-tasking skills. This candidate must be able to work both independently and as a part of a team. Must be willing to travel (50% travel / 50% office), work occasional evening and weekend in addition to the regular Monday through Friday, and possess a valid PA driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required. Successful candidates should have experience in fundraising, sales or portfolio management; demonstrated success in development or major gifts preferred.
