Instructor of Biology (Tenure Track) - 2 Positions Available

Job Description:

The Instructor of Biology will teach a full-time load of 15 credit hours during both the fall and spring semesters, consisting of foundational Biology lecture and laboratory courses such as Principles of Biological Science, General Biology, and Anatomy and Physiology.  The Instructor of Biology will be an integral part of the Biology Department and participate in assessment, as well as contribute to departmental and college activities and initiatives that support the college mission.

Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  A minimum of a Master's degree in an area of Biology and a minimum of one year of college-level teaching experience are required. All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  At least two years of college-level teaching experience, preferably at the community college level, preferred.  Experience in teaching a wide range of Biology classes, particularly Microbiology and Pharmacology, strongly preferred.  Experience in successful utilization of classroom technology also strongly preferred.

SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $64,841 plus excellent benefits.
