FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Computer Science, College of Staten Island, CUNY seeks to fill two new lecturer positions in Computer Science. The successful candidates will be expected to teach both foundational computer science courses like introduction to programming, data structures, operating systems, database systems, and algorithms, and specialization courses in one or more of the following areas: software engineering, mobile and web development, security, distributed and cloud computing, data science, and artificial intelligence. The successful candidate also will be required to participate in student recruitment and mentoring, and department and college activities such as curriculum development, assessment, and service. This position is eligible for a Certificate of Continuing Employment after five consecutive years of employment.
The College of Staten Island (CSI) is a 204-acre landscaped campus,
the largest in New York City. It is fully accessible from the other
boroughs of the City and New Jersey by car and public
transportation. The Computer Science Department offers the degrees
of BS in Computer Science, BS in Computer Science-Mathematics, BS
in Information Systems and Informatics, AAS in Computer Technology,
and MS in Computer Science. The BS in Computer Science has been
continuously accredited by ABET since 1989. For more information on

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, and the ability to teach
successfully.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Computer Science or a
related field. PhD degree in Computer Science or a related
field.
