Job Description

The Department of Mathematics at Virginia Tech invites applications for the Patricia Ann Caldwell Postdoctoral Associate. This is a two-year appointment to begin August 10, 2021. Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in mathematics or a related field at the time of appointment. Preference will be given to applicants who can identify a Virginia Tech faculty member who will serve as a research mentor and to applicants whose Ph.D.s were awarded no earlier than August 2018. The teaching assignment is at most one course per semester (and is typically one course per semester). Teaching assignments will be confirmed based on instructional needs prior to each semester.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in Mathematics or a related discipline at the time of the appointment and a history of peer reviewed publications. PhD must be awarded no more than three years prior to the effective date of appointment with a minimum of two years eligibility remaining.
