The Department of Computer Science & Computer Information Systems at Auburn University at Montgomery ( AUM ) invites applications for two tenure-track assistant professors in the areas of Computer Science Information Systems Cyber Security beginning in the Fall 2021 semester. The individuals selected for these two positions will be expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses, secure research funding, and collaborate with faculty on interdisciplinary research projects. Faculties in the department are active in research field and receive extensive grant support from NSF recently. It is a fast-growing department offering Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Master degree in Computer Science, Master degree in Information Systems and Cybersecurity. Department research interests include mobile & cloud computing, animation & gaming, augmented virtual reality, embedded systems, robotics, cyber-physical systems & security, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, parallel and distributed computing, human-robot interaction, computer science education, etc. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science/Engineering or a closely related field. Ph.D must be conferred by May 2021. Excellent communication skills are required.

Desired Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications include teaching and research experience, a substantial record of peer-reviewed publications, and demonstrated ability to secure external funding. Rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Recent graduates with exceptional research publications and academic credentials are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to individuals with a track record of interdisciplinary research collaboration. The candidates should demonstrate the potential to 1) excel as a teacher in both undergraduate and graduate courses, 2) secure funding to support a research program, 3) mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and 4) publish research results in the appropriate scholarly outlets.
