West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics seeks a second pediatric nephrologist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.

Depending on operational needs, a successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. In such instances, travel would be anticipated and expected to fulfill said duties at these additional sites.

Duties: The successful candidate will practice pediatric nephrology and will join our nephrology team of three others, including a pediatric nephrologist chief, nurse practitioner, and a nurse coordinator. This group is also closely aligned with our US News and World Report top-50 pediatric urology program. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidate must have completed pediatric residency program, as well as pediatric nephrology fellowship program. Successful candidates must be board certified / eligible in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital is a tertiary care center for the state of West Virginia, Western Maryland, Southwestern Pennsylvania, as well as Southeastern Ohio. WVU Medicine Children’s recently announced plans to construct a new 10 story Women’s and Children’s Hospital with an anticipated move-in date of mid 2021. Our new 150 bed Children’s Hospital will have a full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab/interventional radiology, and GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff. The hospital will include 34 pediatric beds, 54 NICU beds, 31 PICU beds, Heart Institute, and a dedicated Cancer Institute. WVU Medicine Children’s is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently.
