The School of Design and Community Development in West Virginia University’s Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design ( http://davis.wvu.edu/ ) in Morgantown, WV, invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in the Interior Architecture program. Appointment will begin on January 2, 2022.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching – The faculty member will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the following areas: commercial design, universal design, building technologies, and/or other areas of need. They will also actively participate in undergraduate and graduate student advising, curriculum development, development of online course content, and the advising of student organizations.

Research – The candidate will be expected to develop an externally funded, nationally recognized research program that complements existing program strengths in interior architecture and the School of Design and Community Development.

Service – The faculty member will engage in professional outreach activities and actively participate in university, community, and professional service activities. The faculty member will participate in program and school meetings, and contribute to course, curriculum and program assessment activities. They will also contribute to CIDA accreditation activities as needed.

Qualifications :

Required:
Candidates must have a terminal masters (e.g. MFA, MID, MArch) or doctorate in interior design or interior design-related field.
Candidates must be NCIDQ certified within three (3) years of employment.

Preferred:
In addition to the required qualifications, we desire applicants with professional design experience in a commercial field who is proficient in the application of digital technology to design.
Proficiencies should include Revit, AutoCad, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
