Brief Statement of Duties
Brief Statement of Duties:
Teach sophomore level analytical chemistry, teach senior level instrumentation courses, teach first year chemistry as needed. Participate in departmental service. This is a campus-based position.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education:
Doctorate or equivalent terminal degree
Discipline / Degree Area:
Analytical Chemistry or closely related field
Required Specialized Training/Certifications:
Prior experience with chromatography and mass spectrometry
Required Minimum Work Experience:
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties:
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to manage time.
Commitment to undergraduate education and demonstration of excellence in teaching undergraduate students.
Excellent problem-solving skills and laboratory-diagnostic capabilities.
Ability to work well with an instructional team, including but not limited to stockroom staff, fellow instructors and laboratory assistants.
Ability to explain common analytical chemistry concepts and techniques.
Ability to work safely with students in a teaching lab and follow applicable health and safety regulations.
Additional Desirable Qualifications

Prior university level teaching analytical experience
Familiarity with Shimadzu instrumentation
