Non-Tenure-Track, Lecturer; Elementary and/or Early Childhood
The University of North Alabama’s College of Education and Human Sciences (COEHS) is seeking a qualified full-time non-tenure-track faculty at the rank of lecturer for the elementary and/or early childhood programs. Candidates qualifying for other ranks will be considered. Salary and rank will be based on qualifications of the successful candidate. The Educator Preparation Program is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and approved by the Alabama State Department of Education. Duties, in addition to teaching 12-15 credit hours of undergraduate coursework per semester, include: clinical supervision of students, advisement, engaging in scholarly activities and professional service, and service to the department, College and the University. Additional responsibilities include participation in curriculum and course development, advisement and recruitment, ability to work within a culturally diverse student population, maintaining office hours in accordance with University policy, and performing other duties as assigned.
Applicants must have a minimum of a master’s degree in elementary education, early childhood education, or a closely related discipline with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in elementary/early childhood education; evidence of accomplished teaching experience in grades P-6; a commitment to culturally responsive teaching; eligibility to hold valid P-3 or K-6 Alabama Professional Educator Certification; Applicants must commit to completing a doctoral program in elementary or early childhood education as a condition for employment. Recommended lecturer may qualify for tuition remission program.
