Job Description

The Department of Chemistry at Virginia Tech invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in synthetic organic chemistry, broadly defined, with expertise in synthetic methodology, chemical biology, medicinal chemistry, catalysis, green chemistry, natural product synthesis, or polymer synthesis, with an intended start date of Fall 2021. The candidate will be encouraged to participate in the Virginia Tech Center for Drug Discovery (https://www.vtcdd.science.vt.edu), and/or the Macromolecules Innovation Institute (https://mii.vt.edu).

A Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field is required; the degree is required at the time of appointment. The successful candidate must establish an internationally recognized research program and be an effective teacher in graduate and undergraduate courses.
