The University of North Alabama is accepting applications for the position of tenure-track, Assistant Professor in the Kinesiology department. Duties include teaching 12 credit hours per semester, student advisement, engaging in scholarly activities and professional service, and working on departmental, college and university-wide committees. The candidate will teach courses in the undergraduate and graduate curriculum, which may include introduction to sport and recreation, sociology of sport, sport facility and event management, sport governance, sport communications, management of sport and recreational organizations, sport laws, risk management in sport, sport sales, and other courses as needed. Additional responsibilities include maintaining office hours in accordance with university policy, and performing other duties as assigned by the department chair.  Applicants should have a high commitment to effective classroom and online teaching, student advising and mentoring, curriculum development, research/scholarship and professional activity. Minimum qualifications: Doctoral degree in Sport Management, Sport Administration or closely-related field is required; ABD candidates may be considered.  Teaching experience at the college/university level, both undergraduate and graduate, is preferred; Experience with program development and student mentoring is also preferred.
