Biology Faculty, Steamboat Springs
Full time faculty positions begin in August 2021 with a 30 credit hour (170 day contract per Board Policy 4.12) teaching load annually.
The ideal candidate will teach a variety of 100-200 level biology courses including General Biology I and II, Human Anatomy I and II, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Human Pathophysiology, Botany, and/or Ecology. Expected teaching load may include concurrent enrollment offerings delivered for local high school students. Evening and online teaching may be required.
Teaching responsibilities expected of all faculty include: teaching course load as assigned, evaluate courses and assess student learning, meet established course, program and learning outcomes, comply with guidelines and policies, maintain office hours per established standards, develop rapport with students, assist with and participate in advising, orientation and registration activities.
CMC Faculty are expected to engage in service activities such as campus and college committees, participation in relevant projects, mentor peers, participate in and assist with assessment activities, program review, student organization, recruiting and retention.
Salary range: $65,686.19 - $80,005.72 depending upon education and experience. Qualified candidates must be credentialed to teach in this program, or eligible to be credentialed. Examples of ideal qualifications include:
A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Biology or related field, or a Master’s Degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in Biology or related field is required. Minimum of one year full time teaching experience required, or equivalent in a part-time (e.g., adjunct) role. Higher education teaching experience is strongly preferred.
