Position Summary:

Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR) is seeking a creative, enthusiastic and experienced manager and fundraising professional to lead WPR's Membership department.

This is a leadership position within WPR. The Membership Director is responsible for leading the work of the membership fundraising unit within WPR. Primary responsibilities include departmental and staff management with a focus on team leadership, work-plan development, strategic planning and budgeting. Membership departmental goals are focused on fundraising and member acquisition, retention and growth. Utilizing on-air membership (pledge) drives, direct mail, door-to-door canvassing, email, online giving and social media, this position oversees the unit responsible for overall individual giving and membership at WPR. In partnership with PBS Wisconsin, this position also oversees Wisconsin Public Media's Audience Services department. The Membership Director works as part of a development team and reports directly to the Chief Development Officer.

The ideal candidate is passionate about the mission and value of public media. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker and collaborative self-starter with superior communication and interpersonal skills.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

1. Four years cumulative experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
2. Significant experience in a leadership role working collaboratively across departments, and/or with internal and external stakeholders.
3. Experience in fundraising-related work, preferably in a membership-based fundraising program.
4. Experience working with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or interconnected software system.
5. Experience with donor privacy, data security and/or PCI compliance.
6. Ability to manage constituent data, financial data and related processes.
7. Excellent communication skills.

NOT REQUIRED BUT DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience in or knowledge of public broadcasting.
2. Experience in change management.
3. Experience navigating software transition or implementation.

Additional Information:

We expect to pay in the $70,000's. Actual pay will depend on skills and qualifications.

This position also requires occasional flexible and variable hours, including early morning, evening, and weekend hours during member drives. Additionally, this position requires the ability to work at a computer and desk for long periods of time and in a temporary "work from home" environment.
