Coordinator II, Marketing



Job Summary

The Coordinator II, Marketing develops marketing strategies and creates effective marketing campaigns consistent with Campus Life initiatives. The Coordinator II, Marketing position will be responsible for marketing, promotions, and community engagement activities in collaboration with University Marketing to encourage and promote brand presence and identifiability among key stakeholders. The Coordinator II, Marketing supports Campus Life and The Deans Office to manage and execute a diverse, equitable, and inclusive marketing strategy in various mediums among both internal and external audiences including but not limited to print, web, and social media.

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:

Develops marketing strategies and creates effective marketing campaigns.

Create strategic marketing plans for specific campaigns in collaboration with cross-functional teams, and successfully manage the execution of those plans. Provides creative leadership in generating original ideas for media outreach strategies that achieve strategic goals; ensures that the designs follow the correct branding; and are in-line with appropriate targets and timelines.

Manages the design and development of website and social media content that supports the department’s marketing initiatives.

Develops print and electronic publications including brochures, flyers, announcements, invitations, bulletins, newsletters, and handbooks.

Develops department presentations for use at campus events.

Develops new techniques, systems, and procedures to enhance the marketing efforts of the department.

Reviews progress, evaluates effectiveness of marketing campaigns, implements new processes, and promotes best practices.

Maintains department budgets including monitors expenditures, researches purchase options, prepares purchase requisitions and invoices, and reconciles purchasing card expenditures. Prepares budget status reports completes budget transfers, and tracks grants.

Recruits, hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates clerical staff, OPS, and part-time student employees. Maintains work schedules, timesheets, and payroll action forms.

Monitors production workflow.

Other Duties

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Assists with communication efforts during emergencies.

Serves as essential personnel and provides assistance in the event of an emergency on campus.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization.

Four years of professional full-time experience in graphic design, marketing, public relations, or communications.

Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree from an accredited institution in marketing, public relations, communications, or other closely related field.

Experience in graphic design, marketing, public relations, or communications in a higher education setting.

Work experience and knowledge of video production, including but not limited to shooting, non-liner editing, color correction, audio editing.

Experience using Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, or other software used for graphic design and/or multimedia production.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of marketing principles, including promotion and public relations. Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods, including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects within deadlines.

Ability to work successfully as both a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines.

Ability to take initiative to plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situations when numerous and diverse demands are involved.

Ability to think critically and creatively, have a high standard of integrity, and be motivated to incorporate best practices into the organizational structure.

Ability to operate personal computers with proficiency and learn new applications and systems.
