Social Science Research Assistant

Primary Purpose of Position:
The Social Science Research Assistant will be based at the Julius L. Chambers Biomedical/Biotechnology Research Institute (JLC-BBRI) of NCCU in the Community Outreach and Engagement Core (CEC) of the NCCU-RCMI.

Minimum Education/Experience:
The Candidates must understand and have the capacity for training on services, policies and procedures related to Community Based Participatory Research. Candidate will (1) Obtain consent forms from participants; (2) Collect, organize, manipulate, analyze and report data using established technology and systems; (3) Input information from biological and demographic/survey data; (4) Communicate and convey findings to the program administrator in a timely manner; and (5) Assist with recruitment for the proposed research study(ies). Candidate will also assist with the procurement process (e.g. ordering lab supplies, obtaining quotes and pricing, troubleshooting any shipment issues with vendors, etc).

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
This position will provide assistance
on RCMI Proj 1. The Social Science
Research Assistant will help with
biological and demographic/survey
data. Plans for rural recruitment
involve many tasks needed to
complete the urban portion of the
study. This part-time position can
help the transfer the large volumes of
data from Qualtrics surveys online and
assist with bench work.
