Purpose of Position: The SFS Associate provides Financial Aid operational support internally and high-quality service to students at Emerson College, with specific emphasis on Speech@Emerson and other Graduate-level programs. The SFS Associate will be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the department.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond with high levels of customer service to basic student inquiries, and troubleshoot discrepancies or concerns on behalf of the students, also serves as a liaison between SFS and other departments
  • Build relationships with students and all levels of the Emerson community
  • Provide excellent student customer service and counseling
  • Contact students in regard to balances, documents, and other correspondence
  • Responsible for end to end process related to verifying and awarding Financial Aid Awards
  • Attend regularly scheduled department meetings and applicable training
  • General Administrative tasks such as answering emails, incoming call
  • Support the department with ad hoc projects


Your Other Responsibilities:
  • Assist with budget creation, review, and updates
  • Complete balance reports and Financial Aid reports
  • Prepare and present information to students and staff via online platforms
  • All other duties as assigned


Your Qualifications:
  • MS Office Suite including strong excel skills
  • Willingness to learn new systems and processes
  • Experience with a fast-paced customer service environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 year's of experience in a Financial Aid office or Customer Service position


You'll be Preferred with:
  • Problem-solving techniques to clearly define issues
  • Ability to make suggestions for process improvements


Work Environment:
  • Typical office environment
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods
  • Ability to concentrate for long periods of time


Grade of Position: A14E

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36.25

Hiring Range: $42,750.00 - $44,700.00
