Lecturer, Finance-Certified Financial Planner Track (Term)

The Lariccia School of Accounting and Finance in the Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University is seeking a full-time faculty member to teach in the Certified Financial Planning track in our undergraduate finance major. The successful candidate will be a CFP with business experience and hold an appropriate Master’s degree. This position is non-tenure track and is renewable.

The mission of the WCBA is to prepare students to be successful business leaders. There is an emphasis on application of theory to practice and the professional development of our students. The selected individual will teach courses that support the CFP track and the Finance major, engage with the business community and the profession, and provide leadership for the CFP track. Active involvement with our students and the business community is required.

The Williamson College of Business Administration (WCBA) is housed in a state-of-the-art building and is comprised of the Department of Management & Marketing, The Lariccia School of Accounting and Finance, and the Department of Communication. The AACSB-accredited business programs include the BSBA with nine majors, the MBA, and the Master of Accountancy. There are 35 business faculty members, 1350 undergraduate business majors, 400 MBA students and 30 MAcc students. The WCBA has a dedicated Center for Undergraduate Student Services and Center for Career Management. The WCBA also houses the Small Business Development Center, recognized as one of the top SBDCs national-wide as well as the Export Assistance Network and the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC).

Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Minimum Qualifications
At least a Master’s degree in business or a related field. Certified Financial Planner designation. Significant business experience in financial planning. Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and engagement with the business community.

Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience is strongly preferred.
