The University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) seeks an experienced fundraising leader, brand ambassador and tested manager to join its executive leadership team as its next vice president for advancement.

Reporting directly to UCO’s president and serving on the President's Cabinet, the vice president for advancement (VPA) is the institution’s chief advancement officer and will lead the university to increasing levels of philanthropic success and engagement. As such, the VPA plays a critical role in building and sustaining meaningful relationships with individuals, corporations and foundations. Further, the VPA oversees the UCO Advancement office responsible for annual giving, major gifts, planned gifts, alumni relations, alumni and friend communications, grants, donor relations, maintenance of all alumni and donor records, and financial oversight. The vice president will serve as both a principal fundraiser for the university, as well as president of the UCO Foundation. This collaborative role ensures the success of both entities as it relates to fundraising activities, donor stewardship and fiscal and budget management.

To this end, the vice president will work with key partners across the university to develop integrated and cohesive major, principal and foundation gift strategies for both university-wide priorities as well as university and unit-specific needs. The vice president will work closely with key partners across the institution to expand and strengthen web and social media engagement, enhance virtual events with alumni and friends of the university, identify opportunities for solicitation and stewardship activity and continue to educate various constituent groups about UCO's history, impact and mission. The vice president should be a close advisor and partner with the university's president and develop strategies and tactics to further advance the cultivation and solicitation of the university's most generous alumni, donors, volunteers and friends of the institution.

The vice president will be a proven advancement professional, providing counsel to university leaders in the pursuit of transformational funding for the greatest philanthropic needs of the institution. UCO seeks a forward thinking and self-confident leader who will lead by example and whose values align with the values of the university. The successful candidate will have sound judgement, exceptional communication skills, extensive fundraising and administrative experience and broad perspectives on the business of advancement and foundation management. The next vice president should be a skilled negotiator, customer-service oriented and work to develop relationships with various internal and external constituents, both locally and with UCO constituents throughout the country.
