Job Information: The Department of Teaching and Leading at Augusta University invites applications for a full time, non-tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor of Secondary Education. The full time non-tenure track appointment begins in August 2021. Responsibilities include teaching (undergraduate and graduate level education courses), supervising field experiences, advising, engaging in scholarly activity and research, and providing service to the College of Education, the University, the community, and the profession.

Qualification: Preferred qualifications include an earned doctorate in secondary education or related field and experience teaching (minimum of 3 years of K-12 classroom teaching experience). College teaching experience and an established agenda of scholarship are preferred. This position includes teaching courses in secondary education methods, curriculum and instruction, assessment and evaluation, and/or research methods at the undergraduate and graduate levels. This professor will also be expected to supervise lab students and student teachers in their field experience classrooms and participate in future program expansions.

Department: The Department of Teaching and Leading is one of three departments in the College of Education, whose programs are accredited by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, CACREP and the Southern Association of Colleges and Universities. The department offers undergraduate degrees in elementary, middle grades, secondary, special, education, and P-12 education. Graduate degrees currently offered include the Master of Arts in Teaching, Master of Education, Education Specialist and the Doctorate in Education.
