Hollins University, an NCAA Division III institution and member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, invites applications for the full-time position of Athletic Trainer with duties in the Athletics and Physical Education department beginning February 1, 2021. This position is a full-time, ten-month, administrator appointment reporting to the Director of Athletics.

Duties include all aspects of the athletic training program involving eight NCAA sports and the IHSA riding program. This includes, but is not limited to, the day-to-day function of the athletic training room, attendance at practices and games, record-keeping (including secondary insurance), assisting with equipment management, and providing injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation for student-athletes.

Successful applicants must have a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in athletic training, physical education, or related field; National Athletic Trainers’ Association certification; Virginia athletic training license or eligibility; CPR and first aid certification; previous athletic training experience (preferably at the collegiate level); excellent leadership, role-modeling, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; knowledge of and ability to work within the framework of ODAC policies and NATA and NCAA rules and regulations; willingness to work on projects with faculty, administrators, and staff; and a valid United States driver’s license with minimal violations. Must also be able to work evenings and weekends. Final candidates will be subject to criminal history and motor vehicle background checks.
