Primary Objecttive
Consider joining Daley College as part-time Children’s Academic Instructor. Daley’s academic programs provide children in grades PK-12 high-quality, in-depth assistance in reading, math, science and writing, helping them to discover a love of learning and to excel in their school studies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
- Use a variety of instruction strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, lecture, discovery, etc. for student engagement.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom
- Evaluate students’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports
- Communicate with parents as appropriate to discuss students’ progress;
- Participate cooperatively with the Continuing Education program coordinator and the director of community education programs to develop a robust curriculum and assess areas for growth and improvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood or related field from accredited university. Candidates with endorsements in math or science are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Experience in computer usage and technology.
- Minimum one year of experience in a classroom or after-school program setting.
