The faculty member is responsible for teaching medical-surgical nursing and one of the following, pediatrics, mother, newborn, mental health or fundamentals of nursing. In addition, faculty members are expected to stay current in their disciplines and in teaching methodologies; and implement changes in instruction based on assessment results; maintain reasonable, distributed office hours; develop and revise curriculum; mentor adjunct faculty; and advise students as appropriate.

Faculty members provide leadership for the development, growth, and support of the College and the assigned area; and undertake professional community service. Other duties include supporting the mission, vision and values of the College and policies of the Board of Trustees; serving on various College committees, task forces and other groups; and participating in various official College ceremonies and meetings.

This is a tenure-track faculty position, to begin August 2021.

A master’s degree in nursing is required.  Two years of nursing clinical experience are required.  Clinical expertise in medical-surgical nursing and one or other area of nursing is preferred.  Candidates must be licensed nurses in Maryland or have the ability to be licensed.

Previous experience as a nurse educator is preferred, including classroom teaching experience; curriculum development experience; demonstrated ability to evaluate student performance; experience with test item writing; experience with instructional technology.
