University Events.
Our Events team delivers the St. Catherine University mission to
educate women to lead and influence to everyone who attends! St.
Kate’s is known for hosting events that represent our commitment to
developing women leaders who change the world. Here is alinkto an event at
the beginning of March. Our Events team works with faculty, staff,
the president, the board of trustees, and with every external event
participant.
St. Kate’s is the largest private women’s college in the nation,
ranked #1 among Minnesota Private Colleges for social mobility. In
our overall enrollment in 2020, 38% of our students self-identified
asBIPOC, 31% are first-generation college
students, and 34% receive Pell Grant funding. Our Fall 2021 class
self-identify asBIPOCat nearly 50%. Our
students are passionate about social justice and represent our
mission to graduate women who transform the world.
TheDirector of University Eventshosts events that are
innovative and impactful, driving engagement and appreciation from
participants. This position determines potential growth
opportunities for St. Catherine University and plans, manages, and
executes logistics for all university-wide events including public
events, named lecture series, Mission Chair offerings, alumni
relations, development, ceremonial and presidential events.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing a strategic plan for event planning
to align with and support the goals of the university while
ensuring brand identity, efficiency and policy adherence
- Leading ongoing efforts to innovate and create fresh events and
programs
- Aligning with advancement goals, designing new strategies to
leverage events in generating friends and fund-raising revenue,
ensuring access for all members of the community
- Collaborating with all university leaders and departments to
promote and enhance interdepartmental events, and to ensure every
event detail is successfully implemented
- Communicating respectfully and building relationships of trust
with people of all cultures and abilities
- Leading and coordinating commercial rental of university
facilities for events such as weddings, receptions, corporate
events, and more
- Maintaining a central calendar for all university space used
for events, including negotiating and renegotiated spaces with
planners as competitive offerings arise
- Enlist Marketing support to develop and launch event marketing
and communications to drive successful events, ensuring visibility
to all communities, includingBIPOCand
LGBTQ+
- Establishing criteria and policies regarding event
planning
- Creating evaluation tools to establish objectives and measures
of event success
- Developing strategies to leverage staff and faculty connections
with companies, nonprofit organizations, foundations, associations
and individuals
- Collaborating with IT and Marketing to identify tools to track
contacts to ensure interactions are accompanied by planned support
and follow-up
- Producing reports and detailed workflows for event principals and senior administration including attendance, seating, dietary needs, leadership, etc.
St. Catherine University in St. Paul/Minneapolis, Minnesota, is a

- Five years of full-time, professional experience in event
planning and management
- Experience collaborating respectfully and effectively with
internal and external partners who have a wide range of cultural
and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Experience using database software
ANDEITHER - Bachelor’s degree
OR - Four additional years of experience
- Volunteer experience in a non-profit setting
- Advancement experience
- Exposure to/use ofEMS, Banner and Argos Systems
