The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) at Pratt Institute is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, tech-savvy Educational Technologist who will support the Canvas learning management system and other teaching technology tools aligned with best pedagogical practices across the Institute. The successful candidate will support and build training opportunities, hold office hours and schedule events as well as support programs and faculty in making best use of available resources for online teaching. If you can demonstrate the ability to successfully facilitate effective training workshops, apply principles of instructional design to help faculty integrate learning technologies, and support inclusive and equitable teaching and learning across the Institute, then we are looking for you!

Key Essential Duties include the following:
  • Work closely with CTL staff, Pratt Institute faculty, staff in other units, and graduate assistants to support pedagogy that is inclusive, centered on best practices in online and hybrid education, and proven to be effective.
  • Work directly with faculty in a variety of professional learning settings including individual consultations, small group settings, learning communities, formal workshops, and informal settings.
  • As a member of the CTL team, help shape vision for the future of high-quality online teaching centered around learner-centered, resilient pedagogies and assessments by helping faculty to succeed in online learning environments.
  • Maintain the CTL website (Wordpress) and other community building tools and resources utilized by the CTL.
  • Ensure that Pratt Institute instructors are prepared technically and pedagogically to facilitate their students' success in the Institute's online and hybrid courses.
  • Work as a contributing and collegial member of the CTL team and a liaison with IT, to communicate proactively within the team environment.


Qualifications
Education: Graduate degree and a minimum of four years’ STEM experience in educational technology or development, college or university teaching of blended/online courses, or equivalent combination of education and experiences.

Experience: Knowledge of Canvas LMS and inclusive learning design. Interest in art & design education is strongly preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Effective verbal, written, and digital communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and program management capabilities, including the ability to manage a variety of complex projects and priorities, coordinate with others, and follow projects through to completion.
  • Ability to operate comfortably in a wide variety of roles, whether behind the scenes, or publicly representing the CTL in a professional manner.
  • Tact and discretion with sensitive/confidential information.
  • Working knowledge of online and hybrid educational research, theory, and practice, specifically in the context of faculty professional development.
  • Working knowledge of Universal Design for Learning and (OLC or QM) Guidelines for Online Teaching principles.
  • Working knowledge of Canvas LMS, Google Suite, WordPress, Digication, Zoom and other basic educational technologies.
  • Basic understanding of reflective and integrative ePortfolio practices
  • Ability to design, create, and maintain web pages.
  • Appreciation for and/or experience with practices and processes in the field of art, design or architecture
