About the Opportunity:
The division of Information Technology Services is currently seeking a talented individual to fill the role of Full Stack Developer. The Full Stack Developer directly contributes to the design, development, and implementation of critical applications supporting Research Enterprise Services at Northeastern University. This customer service oriented individual meets with users to help define requirements to address business critical functions. As a Full Stack Developer, you will be part of a cross-functional team that's responsible for the full software development life cycle from conception to deployment. To ensure that essential services are provided to the university community, the employee will be required to work outside their regular working hours as needed

Responsibilities:
Application Development. Work with technical and functional groups to provide systems analysis and design in support of development identified by specific user groups. Document technical and design specifications. Develop and support web applications using state of the art software and tools.

Support. Provide Tier-2 customer support related to Web applications. Identify and perform root cause analysis. Serve as a technical contact to other ITS groups and University business units

Qualifications:
Technical Architecture. Work with technical and functional groups to provide recommendations on supporting highly scalable, fault tolerant and secure software.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Minimum of five years' experience with applications development of both front-end and back-end applications.
  • 3 year's experience with React, .NET, and MSSQL
  • Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML5/CSS, Javascript, JSON, jQuery, XML)
  • Knowledge of multiple back-end languages (e.g. Java, C#, Python) and Javascript frameworks (e.g. Node.js, Express, Graphql (Apollo)
  • Familiarity with databases (mySQL,MongoDB, Postgres, Redis, Elasticache, DynamoDB)
  • Familiarity with Cloud Infrastructure and Platform Services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Familiarity with Agile project methodology and tools (Scrum, Jira, Confluence)
  • Familiarity with devops concepts (CI/CD, Automation, SCM)
  • Familiarity with devops platforms (Jenkins, Github, Terraform, Puppet, etc)
  • Excellent Communication and teamwork skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Organizational skills
