Associate Professor of Practice / Assistant Professor
(Violin) (PR0205/20-21)
The Department of Music at Hong Kong Baptist University (http://mus.hkbu.edu.hk) seeks to
appoint an accomplished musician for the post of Associate
Professor of Practice/Assistant Professor in Violin.
The appointee is expected to fully engage in creative
practice/artistic research works within his/her specialism. In
addition, he/she should be able to teach a range of undergraduate
and postgraduate courses in performance and pedagogies, including
one-on-one applied music lessons.
Applicants for the position of Assistant Professor should possess a
doctoral degree in music (DMA or equivalent). For appointment at
the level of Associate Professor of Practice, a substantial track
record of accomplishments in performance with an international
reputation and at least a master’s degree/artist diploma in music
performance are required. The appointee (for both ranks) will be
expected to make significant contributions to the field of
performance on a global stage.
Initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of
three years commencing September 2021. Re-appointment
thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of
funding.

Remuneration package includes retirement/gratuity benefits, annual
leave, medical and dental scheme, housing assistance and relocation
allowance wherever appropriate.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and
experience.
