The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College (UCBA) invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology position in our Behavioral Science Department. UC Blue Ash College is the largest regional college in Ohio offering primarily associate degrees, with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students.

Job Overview
A Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Cincinnati is expected to teach and participate in scholarly and other professional or creative activities. This position will support the University of Cincinnati’s mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff, and all of our activities.

The areas of teaching for this respective position may include, but are not limited to, Introduction to Psychology, Research Methods and Statistics, Social Psychology, and Personality. In addition, there are possibilities to teach electives such as Abnormal Psychology, and Human Sexuality. The teaching load for UC Blue Ash College faculty is four course sections per term semester. The Position is expected to begin August 15, 2021.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct and teach assigned undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses and seminars.
  • Attend meetings, participate in governance, prepare materials for teaching.
  • Evaluate and develop curriculum for department and/or college.
  • Serve as an academic adviser for students and evaluate student coursework.
  • Serve on college or university committees and participate in curriculum development activities.
  • Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities.
  • Render service to the professional or lay community which is relevant to the individual’s academic specialty.
  • Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Education
The Department seeks a PhD or ABD candidate in Psychology with the expectation of successful dissertation defense by date of hire.

Required Experience
All applicants must have at least one year of full-time college-level teaching as the instructor-of-record prior to the effective date of appointment.

Additional Qualifications Considered
Additional qualifications that will be considered include (a) prior experience teaching research methods and statistics, (b) a demonstrated capacity for successful scholarship within psychology or in the scholarship of teaching and learning literature, and (c) prior history of service contributions.
