The Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center is hiring faculty in the Cancer Prevention and Control Program (CPC). Appointments are tenure-line and will be considered at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels. Appointments include a competitive package of resources commensurate with level and opportunities for additional faculty recruitments and leadership.

Successful candidates will have current extramural funding and a demonstrated commitment to cancer research.  Specific areas of interest include but are not limited to:

  • Cancer and aging research
  • Cancer care delivery and health services research
  • Cancer communication
  • Cancer Survivorship
  • Dissemination and Implementation
  • Intervention trials across all phases of the cancer control continuum

The CPC Program has three overarching aims: 1) identifying novel cancer risk factors and biomarkers, 2) optimizing prevention and screening efforts, and, 3) improving outcomes of cancer treatment and survivorship. Cross-cutting themes include cancer health equity, translating genomics to the broader public, simulation modeling to inform cancer policy, and cancer and aging. A federally-funded center on tobacco product regulation is co-located in the program. In addition, program faculty hold key instructional and leadership roles across Georgetown University.

The Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center is an NCI-designated Consortium Comprehensive Cancer Center and has partnerships with MedStar Health and the John Theurer Cancer Center in Hackensack, New Jersey. Together these entities are the largest healthcare providers in the Mid-Atlantic and represent highly diverse catchment areas. The Lombardi Cancer Center is a fully-integrated component of Georgetown University Medical Center - an academic health sciences center in Washington, DC serving medical and biomedical graduate education and training activities, clinical and translational sciences, and patient care delivery. Joint appointments across this highly collaborative community of scholars are available.
