University Fellow for Faculty Diversity in Computer Science
The University of North Carolina Asheville Department of Computer Science invites applications for a University Fellow for Faculty Diversity in Computer Science to begin Fall 2021.
To be considered for this two or three year position the candidate must have completed or be approaching completion of a Ph.D. program and have completed a minimum of 18 graduate contact hours in computer science and related disciplines. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses that fulfill requirements in our computer science major, computer science minor, and in related disciplines. These courses may include introductory programming, data structures, and software engineering. There are opportunities for the successful candidate to design and deliver course offerings in their area of scholarly interest (all areas will be considered). While we prefer candidates that possess teaching experience, we are open to mentoring predoctorial candidates with a passion for and commitment to high-quality teaching in an undergraduate liberal arts and sciences university.
University Fellows will have a lightened teaching load, extensive mentorship, and support for the development of their pedagogy and scholarship. The term of appointment is 2 (post doc) to 3 (pre doc) years. Following this term, the University Fellow may be offered a tenure-track position in the Department.
