Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania seeks a full-time Assistant Professor within the College of Liberal Arts. This position will support the leadership program within the Department of Cognitive Science and Leadership. Teaching responsibilities may include courses such as Leadership Theory, Self-Leadership, Multicultural Leadership, Leadership Practicum. All department faculty are expected to recruit/advise/retain/mentor students.

The candidate will be expected to assume a leading role in the successful development, innovation, and recruitment for the program, including collaboration with faculty and staff across campus.

Successful applicants must demonstrate commitment to excellent teaching, scholarly activity, and active service on campus and beyond. Application materials should include a teaching philosophy that includes evidence of successful strategies and/or experience in engaging students both within and beyond the classroom.

A commitment to diversity, collaboration, collegiality, and excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate in Leadership, or relevant discipline, by the time of appointment
  • Demonstrated three years of related leadership experience
  • Working knowledge of traditional and online curriculum platforms
  • Commitment to the education of diverse populations
  • Successful performance in an interview and teaching demonstration

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three years experience teaching leadership courses (including designing curriculum)
  • Established record of academic advisement
