The infant and young toddler educator position is a wonderful place for candidates with an interest and some experience working with children under three years old. Our practice offers educators an opportunity to learn about the connection between emotional development and play as well as build a solid understanding of the benefits of nature-based and outdoor-learning. The Children’s Center uses a continuity of care model so that staff do not work with a particular age group but rather work with the children from infancy – three years old. Educators work alongside co-leads, part-time staff, and subs. The co-leads are responsible for building a primary relationship with each child and their family, and the educator builds relationships with a small group of children in what we refer to as a “secondary relationship”. This means that close relationship the educator builds a with the group of two or three small children will be in the context of the co-lead’s primary relationship. The design of this position is to offer mentorship and professional development so that educators can flourish at the Center and contribute deeply to our work.
