The Department of Communication Studies at West Virginia University invites applications for a one year, nontenure track Visiting Assistant Professor position with a course load of three undergraduate courses per semester (with the possibility of renewal) beginning July 16, 2021 in social media and communication technology with a secondary emphasis in interpersonal communication.

Anticipated areas of teaching include introduction to mediated communication, social media, computer-mediated communication, interpersonal communication, and other areas consistent with departmental need and candidate interest. Our Department offers degrees at the BA, MA, and PhD levels.

WVU, located in Morgantown, is a comprehensive land grant university enrolling about 30,000 students in over 100 degree programs. Our Carnegie Classification is “Doctoral Universities: Highest Research Activity.”

Qualifications :

Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in communication studies or a closely related field by the start date, the ability to teach social media and communication technology courses and interpersonal communication courses and the ability to effectively teach large lecture classes.
