Department: Physician Assistant Program

Position Summary:
Monmouth University is seeking applications for a Specialist Professor in the Master of Science degree Physician Assistant Program. This 12-month, non-tenure track position is for the 2021-2022 academic year, and is a two-year initial appointment subject to subsequent multi-year reappointments without limit.

The successful candidate is expected to teach 18 credits per academic year of classroom, online, simulation-based, lab, and/or clinical instruction with primary responsibilities teaching clinical medicine and biomedical science courses, including one or more of the following: Human Anatomy with Cadaver Dissection, Pathology, Physiology and Pathophysiology, Clinical Pharmacology/Pharmacotherapy.

Prepare course materials; create, administer, and grade written and practical examinations; maintain a regular schedule of office hours for student advising, tutoring, and remediation; engage in program evaluation, student admissions, student evaluations, and curriculum development; contribute to activities related to program development, continuous quality improvement, and accreditation; and be available for other University, School and/or program service as needed.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

Required Years of Experience: 3

Other Requirements:
Master’s degree or higher in a related field.

Applicant must be either a Physician Assistant holding active NCCPA certification and eligible for state licensure in NJ or a Physician (DO or MD) with completion of medical residency.

Three years of full-time experience as a NCCPA Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) or physician (residency experience can be counted toward this requirement).

Three years of experience (either as full-time or adjunct faculty) teaching graduate level human anatomy with cadaver dissection, pathology, and/or physiology and pathophysiology.


Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in cadaver dissection.

Three years of experience as full-time or adjunct faculty in an accredited PA program.
