Carroll University (CU) seeks an Instructional Faculty in Nursing for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program. The Department of Nursing, in the College of Health Sciences (CHS), offers a Bachelor of Science in nursing degree program with current enrollment of close to 500 students. Candidates who are innovative and value a dynamic and comprehensive approach to curriculum, instruction, and enjoy interacting with students and other health care professionals delivering interprofessional education are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities would include, teaching, and service. The position is 9-month appointment. The position would be responsible for both teaching and service. The teaching workload would include facilitation of courses in the undergraduate BSN curriculum and may include community health, health policy administration, nursing foundation and clinicals.

Qualifications: MSN required; doctorate preferred. Preference will be given to applicants with broader clinical nursing experience. Current Registered Nurse licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Wisconsin is required. Bilingual preferred but not necessary. Good organization and collaboration skills.

Rank and Salary: Instructional Faculty. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.

The Program: The Department of nursing is approved by the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing and the BSN program is accredited by CCNE through December 2020. Since 2010, Carroll nursing graduates have an NCLEX RN pass rate of 95%-100%. The program utilizes a state of the art, 15,000 square foot, nursing simulation laboratory in the newly constructed Douglas N. and Nancy J. Hastad Hall which opened in January 2018. The Department of Nursing has a strong record of private foundation support and federal grant funding through Human Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Health and Human Services (HHS). Current practicum affiliations include health systems in southeastern Wisconsin and community health agencies.

The College: The College of Health Sciences offers undergraduate and graduate programs through four departments; Health and Medicine, Human Movement Sciences, Nursing, and Physical Therapy. The mission of the College of Health Science is to educate students to be innovative professionals who collaborate to serve the health needs of their communities. The College of Health Sciences currently accounts for ~60% of University enrollment. A dynamic and growing entity, College wide foci include interprofessional education and practice, the integrated approach to health, innovative learning and healthcare technologies, community partnerships and service to medically underserved populations. To support these initiatives the University has recently renovated a medical arts building to house and support its service learning and Community Health Service programs and partnered with the Waukesha Free Clinic at Carroll University. The College supports the interdisciplinary nature of health science education and has received federal and private foundation grant awards to support these, as well as program specific initiatives.

The Pioneer Core general education curriculum has a strong emphasis on developing intercultural awareness and includes cross-cultural immersion experiences.
