The Department of Religion and Philosophy at High Point University invites applications for a one-year appointment at the rank of Instructor to begin Fall 2021. The successful candidate will have a specialization in at least one discrete religious tradition with teaching experience in a survey of world religions. Ph.D. or equivalent earned doctorate is preferred, but ABD applicants will also be accepted.

In addition, we invite applications for a second one-year appointment at the rank of Instructor to begin fall 2021. The successful candidate will have a specialization in ethics with teaching experience in some fields of applied ethics, such as business ethics, communication ethics, technology ethics, social ethics, contemporary moral problems, family ethics, environmental ethics, and so forth. Ph.D. or equivalent earned doctorate is preferred, but ABD applicants will also be accepted.

Applicants should demonstrate a dedication to teaching and be prepared to teach undergraduate courses in the context of a liberal arts institution related to the United Methodist Church.
