Most HAPS faculty members teach in multiple areas of the department as per their areas of expertise.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in East or Southeast Asia or the Middle East. Thematic specialization in one or more of the following areas is also desired: international political economy, global governance, conflict management, or environmental politics and sustainable development. We welcome candidates with training in Political Science, History, Anthropology, and other related disciplinary and interdisciplinary fields.

Ph.D. strongly preferred by September 2021, as are demonstrated excellence in and commitment to teaching, and a strong research and publishing record commensurate with the candidate's experience.
