The Sociology and Anthropology Department at Colgate University invites applications for two visiting assistant professor positions in cultural anthropology beginning fall semester 2021. The positions are for one year, with up to three years possible, pending institutional need. Areas of interest include but are not limited to: medical anthropology and/or global public health; race and/or ethnicity; gender and/or sexualities; environmental and/or climate justice. Geographic region is open; we prefer areas that will stretch beyond existing strengths of the department . Completion of Ph.D. in Anthropology is expected prior to or shortly after the date of hire. Prior teaching experience preferred. Ideal candidates will be able to teach Introduction to Cultural Anthropology and electives in their areas of specialization. The successful candidates will be expected to participate in all-university programs, including the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum.
