Job Summary
This is a one-year limited term appointment; continuation of employment will be based upon availability of funds.
The individual selected for this position will assist with ongoing land and facilities management responsibilities for the College of Agriculture, including (but not limited to) construction duties, planning and completing projects, and operating heavy equipment and machinery.
Essential Functions
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Operates heavy equipment such as tractors, backhoes, bulldozers, trenchers, forklifts, etc. used for various construction projects on university property and also may drive semi-trucks. Excavates, grades, and resurfaces fields and surfaces at various job sites. Builds structures and support structures to include ponds, greenhouses, and buildings throughout campus. Assists in the planning and estimating of department construction projects. Assists with the set up and preparation of special events and facilities. May perform welding and plumbing functions in support of local facilities Loads and transports materials from one location to another. May apply various pesticides to plants, shrubs, and trees. Repairs and maintains equipment and vehicles ensuring that they are in proper working condition.
