Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania invites applications for one full-time tenure-track assistant professor position in mechanical engineering for Fall 2021. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses from fundamental engineering courses to upper division mechanical engineering courses and a capstone course, including instruction in CAD software packages for mechanical engineering, and the Department has a particular need for instruction in topics such as thermal-fluid systems, robotics, mechatronics, or manufacturing engineering. Candidates are expected to apply effective pedagogy and project-based learning in their classroom instruction. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a productive research program that involves undergraduates, actively participate in student advising and prepare students for a successful career including through creation of relevant industry partnerships and experiential learning opportunities, and participate in department/university service, including ABET accreditation.

Minimum Qualifications             

•         PhD in Mechanical Engineering, or MS in Mechanical Engineering with three or more years’ industrial experience;

•         BS in Mechanical Engineering;

•         Successful performance in an interview and teaching demonstration.
