Grants Writer / Manager

Primary Purpose of Position:
The Grant Writer/Manager researches and writes high level proposals and reports to drive major gifts fundraising for the university. This individual works closely with the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations to coordinate the development, writing, submission, and stewardship of grant proposals to corporations, foundations and other private funding entities.
Minimum Education/Experience:
Master’s degree required with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in grant writing.
Writing samples required
Proven track record of successful grant acquisition working with diverse organizations and institutions in collaborative project-based environments.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Detail-oriented, strong organizational and planning skills and proven ability to meet deadlines and proactively keep team informed of upcoming deadlines
Strong verbal, written and editing skills with the utmost attention to detail
Team player who can work independently while managing multiple, simultaneous projects.
Experience with software packages including but not limited to: word processing, spreadsheets, databases, webpage editing, on-line research resources
Proven track record of successful grant acquisition working with diverse organizations and institutions in collaborative project-based environments
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and the general public
Strong analytical and decision making skills.
