Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania invites applications for two full time tenure track Assistant Professors of Social Work in the Department of Public Health and Social Work beginning August 2021. The successful candidates will: 1) teach courses across the generalist and/advanced (clinical) social work curriculum, 2) demonstrate scholarship and research activity, 3) advise students, and 4) serve on department, college, and university committees and engage in community activities as appropriate.   

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE accredited program
  • Doctorate in Social Work or closely related field required at time of employment
  • Strong team player with a record of collaborative, collegial relationships
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to the education of diverse populations
  • Successful performance in an interview and teaching demonstration

Preferred Qualifications             

  • Prior social work teaching experience at a college or university setting
  • Experience with online instruction
  • Experience teaching clinical courses
  • Professional social work practice experience
  • Record of research/scholarly activity
  • Active Pennsylvania Social Work License (or license eligible)
  • Experience in forensic social work, animal-assisted intervention or crisis intervention
