Duties and Responsibilities

The Biology Program at Fairmont State University welcomes applications for two faculty positions within the Department of Natural Sciences beginning August 2021. Applicants should be able to provide instruction in introductory biology lectures and labs for both majors and non-majors in addition to running and potentially developing courses within their respective areas of expertise. The areas of expertise we wish to add to our program are: (1) Microbiology and Immunology which, in addition to general courses, will teach lecture and lab sections in microbiology and cellular biology, develop courses in immunology, and mentor students and student research projects ; (2) Organismal biology which, in addition to general courses, will teach lecture and lab sections in environmental science, develop courses in their area of expertise including developmental biology, and mentor students and student research projects. In addition to contributing to the program curriculum, we seek candidates capable of contributing to the program and success of our students through collegial interactions, mentor-ship of undergraduate students with the goal of preparing them for professional and graduate school, and a commitment to service at all University levels including program meeting and assessment activities.
