The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) School of Medicine has an opportunity available for a Residency Program Manager. The Program Manager works proactively with the Program Director, faculty, and residents to support the Residency Program of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences. The successful candidate will work independently, use sound judgment, interpret, and disseminate institutional and Accredited Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) policies and procedures to training program, including reviewing data to assist in continuous program improvement.  Resolves issues and significant matters on behalf of management by utilizing independent judgment, discretion, creativity, and analytical thinking. Contributes to development and evaluation of goals and objectives set by the Department and ACGME. Creates solutions to ensure legal and policy compliance.  The Program Manager will manage and coordinate special programs such as speakers and lecturers programs, publications, and special conferences or other events to ensure fulfillment of the program objectives.

Essential Functions:
•    Manage Residency Program of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, including its budget.
•    Assist the residency Program Director in the day-to-day management, oversight, and compliance of the Residency Program.
•    Set goals and creates tactics to achieve program objectives.
•    Coordinate the educational activities of the program and ensures compliance with institutional and accreditation standards.
•    Plan data management and communications strategy for program. Work with senior management in developing program goals and milestones.
•    Manage the use of databases used to analyze criteria and deliver data, as well as to monitor, evaluate, and recommend to senior management revision to program operating policies and procedures.
•    Coordinate evaluations of the program/faculty/resident and ensures compliance with institutional and accreditation standards.
•    Along with Program Director, incorporate findings from evaluations into performance improvement plans to improve the program.
•    Provide oversight of documents and correspondence needed to maintain favorable accreditation status of the residency program.
•    Maintain and execute residency program budget, including tracking expenditures, identify variances and resolve, and preparing reports on current finances.
•    Assist residents with meeting and travel arrangements for conferences or educational travel.
•    Maintain working knowledge of the ACGME, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG), American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG), (National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), etc.
•    Ensure program is compliant with various governing entities at local, state, national, and federal levels.
•    Support the Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) and the Program Evaluation Committee (PEC); prepare agenda, provide necessary meeting resources, and submits accurate and concise minutes.
•    Organize and participate in internal Annual Program Evaluation(s) (APE).
•    Create and review Program Letters of Agreement (PLAs) between the home program and other programs, external or otherwise.
•    Responsible for logistics and facilitation of residency recruitment and interviews. Facilitate onboarding/offboarding of residents.
•    Serve as departmental contact concerning residency.
•    Manage educational technology such as MedHub to ensure compliance of duty hours, evaluation compliance, and other data management for accreditation purposes.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.   Qualifications    •    Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
•    Experience: Four (4) years of program oversight including program planning, budget, and coordination.
  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•    Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws.
•    Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems.
•    Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts.
