The Department of Medicine, University of Washington is recruiting a full-time (100% FTE) laboratory-based Physician-Scientist to join the Division of Cardiology at the Assistant Professor level.  The successful applicant will care for adult congenital heart disease (ACHD) patients and maintain an active research program. Opportunities available to conduct research into interventions to promote resilience or enhance ACHD patients' quality of life.   The successful applicant will attend on the ACHD service and teach fellows.  The successful applicant will be appointed to the full-time faculty in the Department of Medicine at the Assistant Professor level (without tenure due to funding). This position will have an annual service period of 12 months (July 1 – June 30). Laboratory space will be available at the South Lake Union campus of the University of Washington, along with a start-up/transition package. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Anticipated start date is July 1, 2021.

 

Applicants must have an MD degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified/eligible in cardiovascular diseases and adult congenital heart disease (or foreign equivalent). Successful candidates must demonstrate expertise in the care of adult congenital heart disease (ACHD) patients, an active research program, external funding and a strong publication record appropriate to rank. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
