Assistant Director of Admission and Recruitment Operations

Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Director of Admission and Recruitment Operations.

As an integral contributor to the Office of Admission, the Assistant Director of Admission and Recruitment Operations will be responsible for contributing to the recruitment, selection, and enrollment of students by assisting them throughout the selection, application, admission, financial aid, and enrollment processes. They will maintain a recruitment territory, including a charge to meet an assigned enrollment goal by region. This position will also serve as the primary admission liaison for the CRM Technolutions Slate system and the campus-wide enterprise resource planning system, Ellucian Banner. Reporting to and working collaboratively with the Director of Admission and Recruitment Operations, the Assistant Director will be responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining procedures and processes that guide the operational functions and admission data fulfillment, query, and reporting needs for the office, other university officials, and outside organizations. Additionally, this position will manage the Senior Coordinator of Admission Data Management.

Successful applicants must have a bachelor’s degree; minimum of two years of successful admission counseling, community college, or other related work experience; experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems; and an understanding of and appreciation for the value of an undergraduate liberal arts and women’s college experience. Candidates must have strong problem-solving skills, as well as advanced organizational, time management, and process management skills.

Applicants must have ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity and diplomacy; excellent public speaking skills, including persuasive oral communication skills; and strong written and interpersonal communication skills. Also needed are Microsoft Office proficiency and abilities to self-start, and work collaboratively, as well as independently. Candidates must have abilities to work with students; develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with other campus departments; work with alumnae/i from multiple decades on a wide range of admission projects; and use sound judgment in all situations and discretion with confidential data.

The abilities and willingness to participate in travel (local and out-of-state) by car and air during the fall and spring recruitment seasons and to work evening and weekend hours are required. Applicants must have a valid United States driver’s license with minimal violations, and final candidates will be subject to criminal history and motor vehicle background checks.

Preferred candidates will have a master’s degree, experience with Technolutions Slate and Ellucian Banner, and two or more years of higher education or enrollment management operations-based work. Additionally, preferred candidates will have demonstrated, successful experience in developing, evaluating, and improving recruitment, enrollment, and marketing strategies from a data-driven perspective, including the use of integrated marketing campaigns and social media to improve the recruitment and enrollment of students of color and other historically underrepresented groups.
