Job Summary
JCCC is searching to fill our open Coordinator, Student Rights and Responsibilities position. The Coordinator of Student Rights and Responsibilities will provide leadership for, and the promotion of, responsible decision-making that fosters holistic wellness, student-centered learning, and behavioral accountability that aligns with the campus community and its values. The Coordinator will serve as the college conduct administrator to include: reviewing, investigating, adjudicating, and managing conduct cases, violations of the Student Code of Conduct, academic violations and other serious violations that lead to suspension or expulsion from the College. The Coordinator is instrumental in educating students in the complaint process and in the effective and efficient navigation of College processes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required in education, counseling, or other related field
Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
Active listening skills
Experience with interpreting college policies and procedures
Knowledge of college disciplinary systems and relevant legal issues
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to maintain partnerships
Ability to ask questions, evaluate responses, weigh information and determine responsibility with an eye toward student learning
Ability to communicate sensitive subject matter
Preferred Qualifications
Passion for working with student success initiatives
Experience working in a college environment with college students
Experience with conduct reporting and management systems
Experience with dispute resolution, including mediation and restorative justice
