Job Description

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is now hiring a Library Electronic Resources Assistant (Electronic Resources Technician) at the Daytona Beach campus. Reporting to the Head of Collection Management in the Electronic and Technical Services Unit of the Hunt Library, this position supports processes related to electronic-resource access and acquisitions, including activation and invoice processing, as well as gathering usage data to inform evaluation and assessment.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Respond to patron problem reports, working with local systems staff, acquisitions department, and library vendors as needed to restore electronic resource access.
  • Communicate with library staff regarding changes and service issues with the electronic collections.
  • Perform regular tests of subscribed content to preempt and correct e-resource access issues.
  • Process database and other electronic resources invoices for Accounts Payable.
  • Gather and present electronic collection usage and compile annual data reports in Excel spreadsheets or other formats as required.
  • Generate other data related to the Library’s electronic collections as needed.
  • Assist library staff with special projects as needed.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Analytical skills with a knowledge of information systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Internet end-user applications.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Superior organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; detail oriented.
  • A minimum of one-year work experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the nature and function of libraries.
  • Familiarity with Alma or other integrated library system.
  • Experience with ordering and billing.
  • Some college.
