Assistant Professor of Political Science
The School of Social Sciences and Human Interaction at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio, seeks a dynamic tenure-track Assistant Professor of Political Science with a major field in American Politics to begin in Fall 2021. The ability to teach courses in public policy is strongly desired; health policy is preferred and gender/racial issues a plus.
In addition to having strong teaching skills and an active scholarly agenda, the successful candidate will teach courses focusing on American politics and public policy and be able to contribute to the university’s newly formed Institute for Civics and Public Policy (ICAPP). The ability to offer courses focused on gender or race would be welcome. The person selected for this position will be a visible and engaged faculty member in our school, the college, the university, and the community. The successful candidate will have experience or demonstrable interest in working closely with students in research and advising.
Principle Responsibilities: Teach courses in American politics and public policy, mentor undergraduate students, and maintain an active research agenda.
Required Skills: Excellent teaching, ability to mentor student research, ability to maintain a productive research agenda.
Minimum Qualifications: ABD in Political Science, Public Policy, or related field
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. and college teaching experience.
