Assistant Teaching Professor of Physics

Penn State Abington seeks a PHYSICIST for an appointment to a non-tenure-track Assistant Teaching Professor of Physics to begin August 2021. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate physics lecture and laboratory courses. This is a 36-week appointment with the possibility of reappointment, excellent fringe benefits that include retirement plans, health, dental, vision, and prescription drug insurance, reduced tuition rates for dependents, and optional long-term disability insurance.

Candidates with a master's degree in Physics will be considered, however a Ph.D. in Physics or closely related field is preferred. Preference will also be given to candidates demonstrating strong teaching ability and experience, including online delivery.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach 12 contact hours per semester to an ethnically, racially and socio-economically diverse undergraduate body, act as an academic advisor, and provide service to the College, including the opportunity for involvement in research with undergraduate students. A commitment to students through engagement in and out of the classroom is expected.

The review process will begin February 23, 2021 and continue until the position is filled.
