The University of Iowa’s Department of Health and Human Physiology invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track lecturer position in Sport and Recreation Management for the academic year 2021-22, beginning August 18, 2021, or January 12, 2022, renewable for a total of three years (2021-2024) and renewable thereafter in three-year increments.  Applications are sought from candidates with a demonstrated potential for outstanding teaching in (1) sport and recreation finance, (2) sport and recreation graduate capstone project course, and (3) at least one additional subject in the SRM curriculum.  The SRM curriculum can be found at this link:https://clas.uiowa.edu/hhp/undergraduate/bs/sport-and-recreation-management/curriculum   Duties of this position include teaching, service to the department and professional development.  Interested applicants are encouraged to learn more about the Sport and Recreation Management program, which offers B.S. and M.A. degrees, at the Department of Health and Human Physiology website: https://clas.uiowa.edu/hhp/

Education Requirement

A master’s or doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, JD) in sport management, recreation management, business administration or a related field of study is required in hand by the start date. 

Required Qualifications

A demonstrated potential for outstanding teaching at the college level in (1) sport and recreation finance, (2) sport and recreation graduate capstone project course, and (3) at least one additional subject in the SRM curriculum.

Desirable Qualifications

Professional experience in the sport or recreation industries.  A doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, JD) in a related field of study.
